Film, Foam and Sheet Testing
Associated Polymer Labs provides Pilot Plant extrusion, compounding, specimen preparation by die-cutting and testing services to meet industry requirements. We provide fast, knowledgeable and cost effective services.
Film, Foam, Protective Packaging, Food and Medical Packaging, and Plastic and Composite Sheet, these Industry Leaders rely on Associated Polymer Labs for compounding, extrusion, specimen preparation, analysis, and testing.
Associated Polymer Labs is proficient in aspects of testing to ASTM and ISO methods. A few of the standard methods are listed below:
- ASTM D 882 and ASTM D 638 Tensile Strength, Elongation, and Modulus
- ASTM D 1922 Elmendorf Tear
- ASTM D 1938 Trouser Tear
- ASTM F 1306 Slow Rate Penetration of films
- ASTM D 1709 Free Falling Dart Impact
- ASTM D 1894 Static and Kinetic Coefficients of Friction of Plastic Film and Sheeting
Other tests include: creep testing, water vapor transmission rate, oxygen transmission rate, gloss and haze, UV-VIS spectroscopy, fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), additive analysis, barrier film analysis, multilayer film analysis, microscopy to measure number of layers and thickness, slip and blocking analysis, stearate analysis, perforation “perf” and tear strength, deformulation and competitor analysis.
We offer complete analytical testing including thermal, chemical, chromatography (Gas, GCMS, LC, and GPC), dynamic mechanical analysis, rheology, creep, and spectroscopy.
Associated Polymer Labs is experienced with raw materials, formulation, recycling and post industrial plastics, setting up extrusion lines, process conditions, on-line testing method development, at the end of production line testing setup, R&D support and QC of film and sheet products. We assist with the purchase of raw materials and plastics to extruder parts and manifolds for multilayer films.
Associated Polymer Labs has a fast turnaround time. We provide testing from a single sample to thousands. We offer a QC program with standard or custom tests. To learn more about us and discover how Associated Polymer Labs can help your organization.
